Energy and Mines: Besner appointed energy institute chair
FREDERICTON (GNB), April 10, 2014 – David Besner has been appointed chair of the New Brunswick Energy Institute for a three-year term, effective immediately.
Besner, a professional chemical engineer and former assistant deputy minister with the provincial government, had been acting as interim chair of the institute since last October.

New Brunswick Energy Institute Makes Significant Investment in Groundwater Research
Fredericton, March 17, 2014 – The New Brunswick Energy Institute is investing over $500,000 in an important groundwater study as their first research initiative. The study will provide the necessary baseline data needed to assess the impacts, if any, of shale gas development on domestic well water quality.
